Footsteps, the Foot Care Store, was launched in 2009 by Dr. Tesi, a podiatrist with more than 20 years experience. Footsteps is not your typical shoe store.

The doctor was frustrated as a podiatrist because his professional colleagues typically recommend surgery for most every foot problem. He recognized that foot and gait problems could usually be solved non-surgically with shoe corrections and corrective foot products.

But, there was no comprehensive source for well-built shoes, supportive socks, corrective insoles, and the various foot products that are needed in order to avoid surgery. There was no place to send patients to get the type shoe or device they needed. It would take so much time and effort to find the correct type of shoe that it was very difficult to convince patients that surgery was unnecessary.

Even when people managed to buy the type of shoe that Dr. Tesi recommended, they were often put in the wrong size shoe because sales personnel typically do not know how to custom fit shoes to problem feet.

Dr. Tesi needed dependable, stable people who would absorb much of Dr. Tesi's wealth of knowledge about treating foot problems with proper shoes, comfortable and supportive socks, shoe inserts, orthotics, and a variety of other foot care products.

It was evident that a solution was needed. Footsteps was born. We now operate as a regional resource for people with foot, gait, and back problems.

Before Dr. Tesi could create Footsteps he needed qualified personnel. Part-time or short term sales people would not be effectively fit the special shoe and foot needs of clients with existing problems. Dr. Tesi had to find and train qualified managers for this foot care store. Bill and Susan answered this need and set to work building the best foot product and care center in the region, perhaps in the nation. They have been managing the store, providing expert customer care, and guiding the day-to-day operation of Footsteps since its opening day.

Footsteps is a shoe store and much more. Experienced staff listen to your description of problems with your feet, look at how you walk, examine wear patterns on your existing shoes and make informed suggestions as to what shoe, what sock, or what shoe insert will best fit your need and alleviate your pain.

Some problems that people experience in walking or standing require less extensive, and less expensive, products. Fungus under toe nails can cause deformed and overly thick nails that make it painful to walk or stand. A simple liquid solution available over the counter can stop this from being a problem.
