NOW ONLINE AVAILABLE: A Kinship of Purpose

Simon Bell and Rainer Hoess have different backgrounds. Simon was a career mental health nurse specializing in the care of offenders, but with a long-held interest in the Holocaust, other genocides, and the consequences of intolerance. Rainer carries the burden of a family history associated with one of the greatest crimes against humanity. His grandfather was not just a Nazi, he was the commandant of Auschwitz and bore personal responsibility for creating a facility at which a million people died. The bond that Simon and Rainer share is firstly a deeply held friendship, and secondly a desire to try to ensure that not only are the lessons of history truly learnt, but that the promotors of hate should be challenged in order to help create a more tolerant world. In this short work they have tried to create what may be described as a manual of tolerance. There are more questions and answers than could be accommodated in a large library. This book does not seek to address them all, and probably only scratches the surface. Simon and Rainer refer to their own kinship of purpose, but believe that this is a kinship many good a decent people share.
